What is CosmoDerm/CosmoPlast made of?

The collagen in CosmoDerm/CosmoPlast is purified from human dermal tissue that is grown under controlled conditions. It is formulated with lidocaine for increased comfort during treatment sessions.

Is pretreatment testing required?

No pretreatment testing is needed.

What are the side effects of CosmoDerm/CosmoPlast?

The most common side effects are redness, swelling and bruising which may last 3 to 7 days. You should not use CosmoDerm/CosmoPlast if you are allergic to lidocaine. Also, it is not recommended for those patients with rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma or a history of severe allergies and anaphylaxis.

How long does CosmoDerm/CosmoPlast last?

The lengths of time that CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast lasts are variable, depending on a patient's metabolism. The average is 2 to 4 months at which time a touch up is required. Cost is variable and depends upon the areas and depth of the creases that need to be treated. We will discuss pre and post treatment care when you come in for your consultation.
