Sclerotherapy for Veins
Many adults are affected by unappealing veins on the face, legs, arms, or other areas. They can develop as a result of pregnancy, standing or sitting for long periods of time, weight gain or simply due to aging and genetics. Not only can they be unsightly, they are often painful and cause burning sensations as well.
Sclerotherapy is the process of using a medication to sclerose, or close, the vein. The injections actually cause the veins to collapse and fade harmlessly. With just a few treatments, the skin on your legs could lose that "road map" look, and you could once again look forward to wearing shorts and short sleeves.

No More Spiders
With sclerotherapy at Rejuvenate!, you should see 50-85% improvement in the appearance of your spider veins. Treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes, and you may need more than one session to realize maximum benefit.
The treatment consists of multiple injections with tiny needles. Most patients feel slight discomfort they describe as a burning or cramping sensation at the injection location.
It can take a few weeks to notice improvement in your spider veins, and for some, veins actually look worse before they look better. It's best to wait several weeks before repeat injections if additional treatment is needed.
If you've had sclerotherapy for spider veins on your legs, we'll recommend you wear compression stockings for about two weeks. We'll also advise you to include walking in your recovery period, but avoid more strenuous exercise. You'll also want to keep the treated areas out of the sun.
Risks of sclerotherapy are fairly minimal. Some patients experience itching, tenderness and bruising around treatment sites that resolves over several weeks. Some people observe "staining," or temporary brown spots caused by iron that escapes from the red blood cells. Injected veins sometimes become lumpy and hard for several weeks. Side effects that occur more rarely include "matting," or overgrowth of red veins around the injection sites, permanent pigment changes and scarring.
